Your first Assignment for History of Psychology will assess your understanding of the material you have learned in the first four units. You will be required to consider how philosophy (Chapter 2) and physiology (Chapter 3) have influenced early psychological thought (Chapters 4–7) . You will pick 1 philosopher (from Chapter 2 of your text book) and one physiologist (from Chapter 3 of your text book) and outline their major contributions to their field. Next, you will discuss how philosophy and physiology influenced the work of the early psychologists, proving specific examples of how your chosen philosopher and physiologist might have influenced the work of one of the early psychologists (from Chapters 4–7).
